through my eyes story
United Way Ballarat participated as a community partner with Ballarat International Foto Biennale in an unique exhibition: BALLARAT THROUGH MY EYES.
We asked the people who live, work and play in Ballarat to show us Ballarat through their eyes. We challenged them to scratch the surface; move beyond the Ballarat we see on postcards and show us what is important to them; what it is about our city that inspires them.
And here is the Ballarat they saw….
THE TIN CAN GALLERIES comprised four shipping containers in the Bridge Mall and the exhibition was open Monday to Sunday over the 4 weeks of the Ballarat International Foto Biennale (17th August – 15th September).
All the photographic entries were posted on Facebook (www.facebook.com/BallaratThroughMyEyes) and the top 24 entries as selected by our judging panel are being exhibited during the Ballarat International Foto Biennale. Each finalist received an enlarged print of their work and a master class with Peter Kervarec.
THE PEOPLE’S CHOICE, the image that received the most Facebook ‘likes’ from the entries displayed online.
THE CALENDAR was produced using the judges’ top 12 entries with the People’s Choice image on the front cover .
AN AUCTION of each of 24 finalists’ images was held, with all proceeds going to the community through United Way Ballarat.
