About Catherine Brown:catherine-brown

Catherine has been the Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation Chief Executive Officer since October 2011. Prior to joining the Foundation, Catherine was the director of Catherine Brown and Associates, providing strategic, organisational development, governance and legal advice and guidance to foundations and not-for-profit organisations throughout Australia.

In 2010, Catherine published Great Foundations – a 360° guide to building resilient and effective not-for-profit organisations with ACER Press. Great Foundations provides practical advice to help enhance the knowledge of Australian not-for- profit CEOs and Board directors.

Catherine has held senior executive positions with Multiple Sclerosis Society of Victoria, Wesley Mission Melbourne and is a former CEO of Brain Foundation Victoria (now BrainLink). She also has more than 12 years’ experience as Chair or Deputy Chair of Victorian statutory authorities in health and women’s affairs.

Catherine has Arts/Law Degrees from the University of Melbourne, a Graduate Diploma in Business Administration from Swinburne University and is a member of the Law Institute of Victoria and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
